TRACE
Asset Tracking & Verification
Blockchain-based document authentication and attestation system powered by DOTs.
Tokenized Record for Authentic Content and Evidence
A blockchain-based content authentication system that creates immutable, verifiable attestations of document existence, integrity, ownership, and multi-party signatures.
๐ฏ Core Value Proposition
TRACE is a temporal attestation and digital signature system. It proves that a specific document existed at a specific point in time, with specific content, issued by a specific entity, and optionally signed by multiple parties โ without storing the document itself. Think of it as a notary + signature service for the digital age, but decentralized and permanent.
What TRACE Does
- Creates cryptographic fingerprints of documents
- Records fingerprints on immutable blockchain
- Provides timestamped proof of existence
- Enables proof of authenticity for documents
- Enables multi-party digital signatures
- Tracks supply chain checkpoints
- Links documents to verified issuers
- Tracks document versions over time
What TRACE Does NOT Do
- Store original documents
- Retrieve document content from hash
- Modify existing records
- Guarantee document accuracy (only existence)
- Replace legal signatures (complements them)
- Require centralized trust
The TRACE Framework
TRACE is built on five interconnected protocols, each serving a specific function in the document authentication lifecycle. Together, they form a complete ecosystem for digital trust.

FLEXIBLE LEDGER EXPERIENCE
The T.R.A.C.E. Workflow
The five-step workflow for document authentication. Each letter represents a distinct phase in the attestation lifecycle.
Tagging โ Content Asset Preparation
The process begins with preparing the Content Asset (document, image, video, etc.) and entering descriptive metadata. The document is hashed client-side using SHA-256, creating a unique cryptographic fingerprint without transmitting the original content.
Registration โ Blockchain Inscription (IBE Event)
The Content Hash is submitted to the TRACE smart contract along with the issuer's wallet signature. The IBE Event occurs, permanently recording the hash, issuer address, and timestamp on the blockchain. A unique DOT ID is assigned.
Authentication โ POA Certificate Generation
A Proof of Ownership and Authenticity certificate is generated, containing the DOT ID and verification link. This can be embedded as a QR code directly in the document, attached as a separate certificate, or stored as digital metadata.
Circulation โ Distribution to Stakeholders
The authenticated document, now carrying its POA certificate, is distributed to relevant stakeholders through normal channels. Recipients can immediately verify authenticity by scanning the QR code or visiting the verification portal.
Evidence โ Permanent Immutable Record
The attestation now exists as permanent, tamper-proof evidence on the blockchain. It can be verified indefinitely by anyone with access to the original document. The record serves as legal evidence of document existence and integrity at the time of registration.
โ How They Work Together
TRACE is the protocol. โ The IBE Event creates the record. โ The POA Certificate provides the proof. โ The PVP enables verification. โ FLEX enables integration.

Immutable Blockchain Entry
The IBE Event is the critical moment when a document transitions from a standard digital file to a blockchain-secured record. It is triggered when the smart contract's mintDOT() function is called and emits the DOTMinted event.
- Input: Content Hash (SHA-256) + Issuer Wallet Signature
- Output: DOT ID + TxHash + Timestamp
- Properties: Irreversible, timestamped, publicly verifiable
- Gas Cost: ~50,000 gas (~$0.05 on BSC)
Digital Signature Module
TRACE extends beyond attestation to provide cryptographic digital signatures, enabling multi-party document signing with immutable on-chain records.
TRACE SIGN
Blockchain-Native Digital SignaturesTransform any DOT into a legally-defensible signed document. Multiple parties can sign the same document, with each signature permanently recorded on-chain with timestamp and wallet identity.
Cryptography & Security
TRACE employs industry-standard cryptographic algorithms for document fingerprinting, signatures, and verification.
Dual Hash System
| Algorithm | Purpose | Where Used | Why This One |
|---|---|---|---|
| SHA-256 | Primary document fingerprint | DOT creation, verification, POA embedding | NIST standard, legally recognized, universal compatibility |
| Keccak-256 | Blockchain-native operations | Smart contract internal lookups, signature hashes | Native to EVM, gas-efficient, used by Solidity keccak256() |
| ECDSA secp256k1 | Digital signatures | Wallet signatures, multi-party signing | Ethereum native, non-repudiable, hardware wallet compatible |
Supply Chain Monitoring
TRACE enables end-to-end supply chain visibility by creating immutable checkpoints at every stage of a product's journey, from origin to consumer.
TRACE CHAIN
Blockchain-Powered Supply Chain TraceabilityEvery product gets a unique DOT at origin. As it moves through the supply chain, each handler adds a checkpoint โ creating an immutable, verifiable chain of custody visible to all stakeholders.
Data Architecture
TRACE operates on a strict three-layer data model ensuring privacy, verifiability, and performance.
Content Layer โ Original Documents
Never transmitted. Never stored. Remains on user's device. Privacy guaranteed by design.Hash Layer โ DOTs, Signatures, Checkpoints
SHA-256 hash + issuer + timestamp + signatures + supply chain data stored permanently on blockchain.Metadata Layer โ Descriptive Information
Title, type, tags, search indices. PostgreSQL. Deletable. Does NOT contain document content.โ Privacy Guarantee
Even if TRACE servers are compromised, no document content is exposed. Even though the blockchain is public, content remains private. Only someone possessing the original document can verify its hash. This is privacy by architecture, not policy.
